About Pearls and Petals
Pearls and Petals is Charmie Galaiya's newest and most technical collection — seventeen made-to-order bridal ensembles built around two materials the house has spent a decade learning to work: the pearl and the petal. Every flower is cut from organza by hand, folded, shaped and stitched into place one at a time, then anchored with seed pearls, cutdana and crystal, so the surface lifts away from the ground and throws real shadow instead of reading flat. The silhouettes are fuller and more architectural than anything the house has shown before: boned bustiers and corset bodices, defined waists, kalidar and circle skirts cut to hold their sweep, and floor-length sheer dupattas that trail. The palette runs from sea glass, sage and periwinkle through lilac, ivory and dusty grey to emerald, mulberry wine, scarlet and magenta. Photographed against the pale dunes and wind-carved rock of the desert, each three-piece set is custom-tailored to the bride's measurements by the house's in-house artisans over four to five weeks and shipped worldwide.
